The Parking Attendants (Jukir)
You will see people in blue, orange, or green vests blowing whistles. These are Jukirs. They help organize parking and assist you in backing out into traffic.
Cost: Typically Rp 2,000 for a motorbike. Always pay them—it's their livelihood, and they keep an eye on your bike.
Don't Block Entrances
Space is tight in Bali. Never park in front of a shop entrance, a house gate, or a "No Parking" sign (often a tire with a stick!). Locals respect access ways; you should too.
Security Tips
- Lock the handlebars: Always turn your bars to the left and lock the ignition.
- Helmet hygiene: Don't leave your helmet on the mirror if it's expensive. Lock it under the seat or use the helmet hook.
- Valuables: Never leave phone mounts or sunglasses on the bike when unattended.
